Religion in the Everton Imperium is very simple. There is one god, known simply as God, who affects probability. It is believed that God has two faces, light and dark.
Those who call upon the light pray for probability to be shifted in a specific way that would help them or others. Those professing service to the light make up the greatest portion of the Imperium's population. Those especially gifted with God's attention are encouraged to enter the Church as a Monk, Nun, or Chaplain. Chaplains are military clerics that devote their energy to helping the forces of the Everton Imperium. A large community of Nuns and Monks on Ona is devoted to praying for the return of the planet Everton and all of its inhabitants just as it was before the tragic accident.
Those calling upon darkness make sacrifices in hopes that they will be granted power to affect probability on their own for greed or evil. The line between the two is very thin, but very significant because all worshipers of darkness are outlaws and traitors to the Imperium by their very nature. Servants of Darkness, as they call themselves, are often found sowing discord against the Emperor or leading one of the endemic pirate fleets.
